In the heart of Rome, overlooking Via del Corso and Piazza Colonna, the historic Galleria Alberto Sordi has undergone an ambitious redevelopment project led by L22 Retail (Lombardini22 Group). Inaugurated in the 1920s and renowned for its majestic neoclassical and eclectic architecture, the Galleria has returned to its role as a natural public walkway and a premier destination for contemporary retail.

The architectural concept redefined the relationship between the historic shell and the commercial spaces, focusing on greater openness to the city, maximum visual lightness, and a high level of sustainability (aiming for BREEAM In-Use certification).

A key element of this metamorphosis is the replacement of both internal and external shopfronts with full-height glazed surfaces. To meet the stringent requirements of the Heritage Authority while satisfying modern retail’s demands for visibility and comfort, the EBE 85 system in painted galvanized steel was selected.
