In the archaeological heart of Rome, a refined restoration intervention has restored the original visual permeability of the Curia Iulia. The project involved the complete replacement of the twentieth-century window frameworks to clear the large monumental openings, restoring continuity between the interior space and the horizon of the Roman Forum. To combine the absolute geometric rigour required by the historical heritage constraints with maximum safety and structural resistance performance, the OS2 65 system in burnished stainless steel was chosen. The profile’s extremely slender sections accommodate glass surfaces of imposing dimensions, defining a language of maximum lightness that integrates with the ancient masonry without altering its material balance.
