Secco Sistemi in Berlin
new showroom

Secco Sistemi opens a showroom in Berlin and takes part in one of the largest urban regeneration projects of the city: an area of about three hectares of former warehouses for heating oils along the Spree in Charlottenburg, right in the heart of the German capital.

The planning involves the design of 30 buildings for about 1.100 new houses under the direction of the Werkbund, interdisciplinary trade association which, for this ambitious scheme, has invited artists, designers, politicians, entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and 33 architects.

The new “Werkbund City“ won’t be a standard housing development, it instead aims to answer the contemporary question “How shall we live?”. A lively neighbourhood, culturally active, collective and individual at the same time. Among the participants stand out Petra und Paul Kahlfeldt Architekten, Caruso St. John Architects, Kollhoff Architekten, Ingenhoven Architects, Max Dudler Architekt.

Secco Sistemi has been involved from the beginning in the design providing the windows and doors for the renovation of the new offices of the Werkbund, the pilot building of the project. Here a peculiar showroom has been set to present the philosophy and the products of the company, a space for debating, studying and designing.

The involvement in the WerBundStadt project confirms once again the constant commitment and growth of Secco Sistemi in the German capital together with the Seimensstaadt buildings, the Studentendorf, the Kauzchensteing musueums not to mention the luxury Titanic Hotel, the Ernst Reuter Haus and the famous ADGB in Potsdamer Platz.
